That was the news of the day and I wonder like many of you what SAP was expecting by spending 6 billions for such acquisition ?
The answer is obvious :
1 - to provide non relational database : Sybase IQ to SAP customers as an alternative to Oracle and also to provide end-to-end BI solution like its competitors did (IBM, Oracle)
2 - to consolidate the mobile offer with Sybase middleware stack
But then again 6 billions isn't too much ? the answer is let's wait for the stock market opening tomorrow.
